Monday Nights

Well Monday night football has taken over our house. Mostly in part because I have a new found addiction to hot wings. Yep that's right, the girl who hates spicy stuff loves hot wings. I blame it on the fact that Buffalo Wild Wings open and the last time I was supposed to go there with friends the wait was an hour and forty-five minutes. So we didn't go, and I've found that I like the homemade ones just as much. So Monday night Garrett and I can be found at home watching football (sometimes I do crafts like hand sewing stuff or knitting eating my new favorite meal...
(Yesterday we tried half of the wings with Honey BBQ )
Well it's only Tuesday and this week already seems like it is going to be crazy!
on top of both of us working full time (and a full time puppy)
Tuesday- Garrett's soccer game
Wednesday- my work Christmas Breakfast in the morning and Temple lights at night
Thursday- Shopping/Dinner with the Girls
Friday- Date night and we are watching Garrett's parents dogs (not sure yet if we want to stay there or bring them to our house)
Saturday - Ward Christmas Breakfast (I must say I love our ward. So many people I grew up with, and the fact that we bought our house makes this ward feel more permanent.
and then it starts all over again.

Crafts!!!

Okay so I have a lot to post from my weekend get away... but I haven't had any time to upload any pictures... My new favorite thing right now though is making fabric bows. While I was in LA, Jodi, Rebecca, and I made some bow holders for their girls. One of the bows they had was a fabric one and I really wanted to figure out how to make them. Turns out its super easy and hardly takes any fabric at all.
Between picking the fabric, the size of the flower, the number of petals (rotating the fabrics of the petals), layering the flowers, and the button in the middle... the possibilities are endless...

the best part is these bows can be used for almost anything... In your hair of course, on a purse, added to a picture frame in a group of 3 for added decoration, sewn on a pillow... or anything you can come up with.

December!!!

Oh my goodness it is already December! 2010 is almost gone. I am so excited to have our first Christmas in our home. I can't wait to put up Christmas lights. Garrett doesn't seem to have very many traditions but I've slowly been converting him to all of mine :) one of my favorites is the advent calenders :)

I mean who doesn't like getting at least one piece of chocolate a day for 24 days straight? Okay so I've never actual been able to hold out and I would cheat and eat more than one at least once... This year however I am determined to not cheat :) and I've got Garrett to help me.

So I am super excited for this weekend to get here (yes I know its only Wednesday) but I've been excited since Sunday :) I found plane tickets for $30 and couldn't pass it up. I fly to LA on Friday night, Spending Saturday at Disneyland, and then Sunday and Monday with my cousins in LA. It's going to be hard to leave my puppy Buster for the first time since we got him but I get to meet...

Beya and Eva
(Sorry Rebecca if you're reading this I stole your pic it's just so cute!)

I also cant wait to see Rebecca and Jaime's new home, Jodi and her two adorable kids, and any other family that I have time to visit with. It's always hard on short trips but it will be nice to get away for a weekend.

Turkey

Garrett hates taking pictures... so normally I get a lot of goofy faces from him. This day however he is always full of smiles after good food and lots of football.

After I took a picture of the Turkey Tyler asked "can we take a picture with it?" How do you say no to that cute little face?

and of course I decorated the bird :)

I hope everyone had a great Thanks giving filled with lots of Turkey.

Thanksgiving

I can't believe tomorrow is already Thanksgiving!!! Where did this year go? I must say that this is my favorite holiday of the year. It's a great time to sit back and reflect on all the amazing things I have to be thankful for.

I saw a quote the other day "Marriage is falling in love over and over again with the same person" I am so thankful for a husband (who without even knowing the quote) does this for me on a daily basis. We've been married for over 3 years now and he still make me fall in love with him over and over again as we grow together.

We were able to purchase a house which we have been in for almost 6 months and are currently turning it into our home. We wouldn't have been able to do so without my amazing Mother and Father-in-law who open their home to us for a whole year. I am so thankful for their help and for the opportunity it gave me to get close to them. My Father-in-law has always been a quiet person and I cant believe how much I was able to see him open up. We also got some financial help from my parents (which we have been blessed to have already paid off  lol) and I am so grateful for that.

Owning a home has open a lot of doors for us. We've got an amazing Boxer named Buster (after my Favorite baseball player Buster Posey) We finally feel stable in our ward and are blessed with church callings that allow us to serve. I really could go on and on.

Also this year:
Giants won the world series, I've gotten really close with my group of friends, I got a promotion, Garrett finally hired an assistant after working over 2 years without one, okay now I'm hitting a mind block so I'm going to have to just end by saying I am Thankful to have so many things to be Thankful for this Thanksgiving.

a little halloween fun!

Every year at work each department picks a theme for Halloween. This year we picked Clue... it was so easy because it was basically normal clothes with a few props and decorations. We even had the credit union solve a Murder.

In the game there are 3 girls and 3 guys... well luckily Professor Plum was easy to convert to a girl.

and here is our group picture

Dixon did Pacman... and there decorations were really cute! They went all out. I had to throw this in here though because I sewed (without a pattern) the Pacman costume for Jared.

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!!!

Giants Baseball!!!

Okay so almost everyone knows that Garrett is the store manager for Fanzz. It's a retail store in the mall that sells sports memorabilia and jerseys and stuff like that. Well throughout the year Garrett's work will randomly send us basketball and Football tickets. Also any time his DM came into town he and Garrett would go to whatever sport was going on while he was here.

Well if you didn't know :)... The Giants are in the Playoffs!!! (yes they lost last night but hopefully they can win one of the next two games to make it into the World Series) Garrett has gotten hooked up with tickets to EVERY home playoff game so far. There is another Fanzz in Oakridge that he has been splitting the tickets with, and due to staffing schedules and my work schedule we haven't been able to make it to all of them. (Plus parking went up to $40... toll... food... and gas... it adds up) We went to the 1st game in the Braves playoff series and Garrett and his Dad (who is a Braves fan) went to Game 2 in the series. Then this past Tuesday we went to home game 1 (game 3 in the series vs the Phillie's) And they won both games I've gone to! The feeling at a playoff game is amazing and the feeling of a win in the playoffs is magical. We've accumulate quite a few rally flags as well.
The opening ceremonies are amazing at baseball games. Barry Bonds and JT Snow threw out two of the 4 ceremonial opening pitches.
This picture cracks me up... not sure what he was even looking at. I love him and I'm so glad we can do stuff like this together. (Even though it took a lot of staff changes for both our jobs for us both to get the day off)
Did I mention the tickets they have sent us are Club level? I really feel spoiled but the Club Level is amazing. The price of the first tickets were $80 each and the ones from the second series were $115 each.

Both games have been sold out so it really is amazing that we got tickets in the first place... let alone free. I keep telling myself to remember how much I love Garrett's work right now for the tickets because from the day after Thanksgiving until the First week in January I hardly remember I have a husband because he works so much... Gotta love the retail life... but hey someones gotta pay for the house we bought right? All in all October has been a great month so far, and I'm hoping it gets even better with the Giants in the World series.

Go Giants!!!

(oh and sorry about the pictures I forgot my camera for the Phillie's game so these are from my cell phone)

Family

Today is Canada's Thanksgiving day, growing up mom ALWAYS had us celebrate it. As we got older it became harder to get everyone together for the normal Thanksgiving let alone two so unfortunately that tradition died off a bit. Since then Rodney has come home and is working with my dad and in the reserves, Lisa moved back from Vegas with her husband and kids, and we've added Jordan and Jessica to the family. We do Sunday night dinners and I absolutely love it. There really aren't that many of us but it's fun to get together. We finally got to start mom's tradition back up and had Thanksgiving dinner last night. So Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian family.

Now I mentioned my family isn't that big... I guess maybe that's one of the many reasons I fell in love with Garrett and his huge family. Along with Garrett came: an additional set of parents, 4 Brother-in-laws, 4 Sister-in-laws and 10 nieces and nephews.

One of my nephews had his big day on Saturday and was baptized. Ryan is growing up soooo fast. I have a funny/embarrassing story about the first time I met this little guy, but that's for another time.

Time...

Okay I really need to find time to upload pictures to write on my blog! I think that's my problem. I hate writing about things with no pictures. Last month I had an SCC alumni softball game, Garrett started on an indoor soccer team, and a few people from work got together to go to the corn maze in Dixon. I've done a few crafty things around the house, and Buster is still growing and getting big. Garrett and I went to game one of the October playoffs and he's going to game two tonight with his dad. So as soon as I find time to upload my pictures I will write more about a few of these things. I hope to find some time tonight after I visit with my parents!

a Blog...

Okay so I feel bad... I read so many other people's blogs but I NEVER seemed to find time to update mine. I am going to try to be better at this but we will see how it goes. I drew the doodle of the cupcake when I was bored and scanned it into the computer then played with it a little. It got me thinking of the many great things in life that make it so sweet, or in some cases things life would be sweeter without :) and thats what I plan to blog about.
