well...

Okay So I have been soooo bad about blogging... and it's not just because we have a new policy at work that we can blog on the clock... Although sometimes I do worry when a policy comes out that hits close to home... I would never do it on work time just on breaks but in this day and age I am soooo not going to try to find gray areas to get around anything. Maybe I will get it on my iPhone. so I can sit on the couch and blog without having to sit at the computer. Also this blog is a bit deceiving... it says Garrett and Olivia... but it is 100 percent mine. He reads it but never writes so I may need to change the format up a bit. Well my newest project is turning the junk/craft/stash room into the baby's room. I am so excited to make the cutes nursery. I think that's what my blog will be about for the next 3 months... yep that's right 3 months (give or take a week) until we meet our little boy... oh the places I could go talking about that last sentence... but I think instead I will just go back to the couch to finish watching the Giants game with my hubby, dad, and doggy.

Guilty pleasures...

Okay so my phone contract expired like 2 months ago, so my phone was ready for an upgrade... well of course at the time my timing belt broke and water pump needed to be replaced and we had a pipe leak in the house... so needless to say I didn't do my upgrade.

Garrett decided for mothers day I was getting it... So I am now the proud owner of the iPhone 4! I love it but sometimes feel it is too much phone for me to handle. Luckily my brother-in-law Brad got it first and has helped me with some stuff.

Garrett on the other hand is turning 30 this Sunday!!! We are having a family get together (our first big thing at our house) which I am already prepared for our house to seem small with all 26 or so of our immediate family there... So for Garrett's birthday he's wanted a grill. We went to Lowe's and let him pick out any grill he wanted...

and this is the one he picked! he liked that it is both a gas and charcoal grill. My dad helped us go get it Monday night with his truck and in the rain :) gotta love dad's and all the stuff they are willing to help with.

Okay so I really need to upload pictures from my camera because there is seriously soooo much more going on but I like pictures :)

Update one me: Well I'm still addicted to fruits and veggies. This week it is sweet corn on the cob!  Still not showing to other people... Garrett and I can totally see the bump though. I love how our relationship has changed, and it just confirms even more that i chose the right man to spent eternity with. I feel great with the exception of being sleepy a ton!!! I sleep so well at night and could sleep all day! Garrett keeps telling me to call in sick and stay home but I'm saving up all my sick time for when the baby comes :) Our next appointment in June 2nd so we will know more then.

Update on my last post

Okay so this is just me rambling but... after watching the 4 movies we've discovered that the 4th and 5th are both prequels to Tokyo Drift... how do we know this you may ask??? (spoiler stop reading if you've never seen Tokyo drift) Well Han dies in Tokyo drift! But he's completely alive in number 4 (and we googled number 5) and Han is in that one too!!! So the correct order for the movies is:

1    2    4    5    3

Everyone I have talked to said they loved Fast Five so I cant wait to see it!!! Our date night got moved up to Thursday night this week because my oldest cousin Jason Moses is in San Fransisco on a business trip and a few of us are going to meet up with him out there to catch a giants game :)

I've been busy cleaning, picking projects to start/finish on the house, planning Garrett's 30th B-day party (yep he's turning the big 3-0) oh and growing a baby :) I've always been a sleeper... the only pain I've not been able to sleep through is tooth pain... and I've been getting the best sleep these last few days. I don't know why but lately I've had a ton of energy and I figure I better use it while I've got it!

Date Nights

Every Friday night has become date night. Last Friday we went to dinner and had lumpia and then did some shopping at the mall, played a few games at the arcade and saw Water for Elephants. It was totally a cute movie and had action and drama, even Garrett liked it. This coming Friday we are going to see Fast Five. Which if you didn't know is the 5th in the series. So to get ready we are watching all 4 previous movies :) we've been watching one a night and tonight we are on Tokyo drift.

Since these came out in 2001, 2003, 2006, 2009 and the new one is 2011 its nice to re-watch them all
and the fact that we both love these movies is an added bonus.

Update on me: I still get a little queasy and don't have an appetite at night so I'm drinking lots of water and juice. I hit 13 weeks yesterday and am still able to wear all my normal clothes but am starting to show just a bit (I notice more than anyone else of course) My nephew Tyler S. says a ate a baby seed and that's how I am growing a baby in my tummy (who am I to tell him any different? I mean it actually sounds quite logical lol) I cant think of anything else so I think thats all for now :)

Our Baby

Okay so I just noticed I posted a post about each one of my sisters kids and it's time I posted about mine :) I am just about 13 weeks pregnant. Almost everyone who reads my blog already knows this but here are more of the details. My husband first off is absolutely amazing! He has been to every doctors appointment and has been so sweet to me. He makes sure I don't stress and takes care of almost everything. Knowing that we've created this little baby together has brought us closer than I ever thought we could be. I have actually lost 15 pounds since I have been pregnant. The baby is healthy and I haven't thrown up at all. It was simply form giving up soda and sweets. I crave fruit and juice and feel guilty if I eat food that's bad for me :) my weakness is chocolate covered raisins. I feel like its a good compromise :) I hope I can stay this healthy even after pregnancy. We had two ultrasounds this week and everything looks good :) my due date is 11/6/11 and that hasn't changed. I am however hoping to be late and have the baby on 11/11/11 :) I mean we were married on 7/7/07 so how cute would that be? All my family says I'm stubborn enough to do it. This baby is stubborn too!!! Our doctor (who is absolutely amazing and sweet and nice) tried to see if she could get a good view to tell us what she thinks the baby will be and well the Little baby wouldn't let her get a good view... guess we will have to wait... We got a ton of pictures but here are my two fav...

The baby waving
and then in this one the baby was kicking the top. Those are the baby's little feet at the top kicking, and it's hand waving again.

Sleep over!

Okay so my last post was about one of Lisa's kids and now this is another one... So this past Wednesday night when we were at Lisa's for Karly's birthday party I've discovered that Tyler has become a little clingy to me. It cute and I love it, but he's also at the age where he remembers things.... ugh... lol.... so when Garrett and I were leaving he asked him mom if he could go with us. She said no because he had school and Garrett and I had work the next day. So I told him he could spend the night Friday night. Well Friday ended up being a crazy day with people working on our house and then Dad and I had to drive to Antioch to get a car part to fix my car. So I called Lisa and said it wasn't a good night... Tyler called me back 5 minutes later and said "If I cant come to your house tomorrow night, then I will be sad" So Saturday night he spent the night. Garrett had to work so it was a late night. (My car was broke and we had to pick Garrett up at 9:00pm) He was so funny and so entertaining. While Garrett was at work we played the wii, took Buster for a walk to see Grandpa, and played games. Once we picked Garrett up Tyler wanted to play more on the wii with uncle Garrett. Mario Cart of course.

I love this picture you can tell how focused they were and that Tyler was on a turn. By this tile it was about 10:30ish (yeah there is no bedtime at our house lol) Buster however was very ready to go to bed. The second Tyler got up, Bust jumped up and took his spot.

All in all it was a very fun night. Oh and both the house and my car got fixed :)

Happy Birthday Karly!!!

Three years ago today I was in the delivery room with Lisa and Eric. We were awaiting the birth of little princess Karly. We were playing cards and Lisa decided to not have an epidural... at least she can say she's done it without... after a very long day Karly was born and it was amazing. (For Tyler's birth it was in Vegas and she had both moms in the room. I remember Garrett and I were sitting on the couch at Jimmy's with the phone on speaker so we got to hear Tyler's first cries... )Karly however was different because Lisa would only let me be in the room. Needless to say my eyes were once again filled with tears of joy and I love being able to say I've been here since day one.(I stayed waste up of course lol) For her first birthday I made her cake, but for her second I was extremely sick. For her 3rd I'm under the weather but she requested a pink cake and she was getting it this year. I love her very much and I'm glad she liked her pink birthday cake :)

She was excited to see it................does the closed eyes thing when she says cheese................and is very serious about her cake :)

Happy 3rd Birthday Karly!!!

Opening Day

Opening Day was Friday... Which meant I had a three day weekend :) It was such a long fun day! My mother-in-law is the best mother-in-law ever. Knowing we would be gone all day she let us drop Buster (our 7 month old boxer who has tons of energy) off to play with their two boxers all day. It was perfect because by the time we got home we ere ready to rest and relax and so was he.

I love that Garrett and I have so much in common and that we get to do so much fun stuff together.

Zach was in charge of the grill and he did a very good job. Everything was perfect. The one thing not on the picture was after all this was cooked Jimmy threw on some Chicken meatballs and oh my goodness they were amazing.
Our seats were of course nose bleed... but what do you expect for a sold out game? I think that's one of the reasons I love this ballpark is that I haven't sat in a seat I didn't like :) Although I did get kind of spoiled with Garrett's work tickets at Club level.
And this is my new addiction!!! It's Shatter nail polish. You paint your nails with an under color... let them dry and then put this over it. As the black dries it shrinks leaving a shattered look.

I did black and orange for opening day :)

and silver the time before... I don't expect to be a hand model any time soon, but I love the way it turns out. When I showed Tyler the orange and black he thought it was so cool and said it was tiger polish.

So that's kind of all for now... This week is Karly's 3rd Birthday, my Friend Melissa's Easter egg hunt/dessert party. Then next week is My mother-in-laws birthday and Easter. My Father-in-law and I are working on a cake for her... needless to say it will be another one of a kind... and if she doesn't like it... it was all his idea :) but its a cute thought so I am sure she'll love it.

Time!!!

Okay can this year please slow down??? I mean Really it's already APRIL? So the one thing I cant complain about it the weather! It is absolutely gorgeous. Perfect weather to do some yardwork and maybe plant a garden or some new flowers, and of course reclaim the space that the weeds have taken over. We've been staying at my in-laws this past week watching their dogs while they were out of town. So our home is in need of some TLC. I would go ahead and put it off until my next day off....but... Garrett and I already have plans to go to the Giants opening day :) I cant wait! I must admit the tailgate is my favorite part. Right now we are busy planning for July. A lot happens in July. We have our 4 year anniversary, the annual Collins family Tahoe trip, and Relay for Life. Needless to say it's a lot of vacation time that has to be requested off asap :) luckily Garrett and I are both workaholics who never call in sick (even when we are sick) and hardly ever use vacation time so we've got a lot saved up. I think this year has gone so fast because our lives feel like they have been none stop lately. I really wish I could find the time to keep up with my blog more often because a ton has happen but it just seems like there is too much to write about, and a lot of random stuff too :) So on that note I think my ramblings in this post are done. I hope everyone has a great day!!!

Dillan

Okay so 2 Months ago (to the day) Dillan made his appearance into this world. He has changed so much in those 2 months. Not so much in size though. He was diagnosed with something that was obstructing his breathing. And of course I can not for the life of me remember what it is called. Well its been a scary few weeks for all of us since his surgery date was set for today. Although we didn't know it was until last night. We simply thought they were doing a scope. Come to find out its know as an exploratory surgery. Their day started this morning at 4:30am and since surgery on a 2 month old isn't that common they had to make the trip out to Roseville to the specialist. I'm not a very public person with most things in my life... but I know for a fact all of our prayers and blessings have been answered. Dillan is safely in recovery and everything went completely well. Through all of this my sister has been a great example to me with her faith and knowledge of the plan of salvation. This has also brought our family closer together. I am so grateful and appreciative to have a wonderfully amazing husband who is a priesthood holder and the everyday support that Heavenly Father knows I need.

Pottery Barn knock off...

Okay so here is yet another post about being a home owner. I must say I shop a lot for the house. Ikea, Home Depot, and Pier 1 have become my new favorite stores. Although I must admit my online affair with Pottery Barn. Their things are so cute yet so expensive. Well, I saw this and loved it...
But I didn't love the price of $43. That and I had the perfect spot for a set of three which would set me back $129 that's just ridicules. So off to Home Depot to see what I could come up with.
I got 3 wooden table leggs and 6 pot coasters...

Glued them together with ligued nails...
Then spray painted them black.
Total cost............................................$11.68 for all 3
(I already had the glue and paint)

and I love them! sorry the picture is sideways and I'm not sure how to fix it also Garrett wants the computer :)

My Kitchen

Okay so almost everyone knows I love to bake. So one of the best parts about buying a home is the Kitchen. I haven't however really done much to it until the last month. I wanted a burgundy or maroon kitchen, but I just couldn't find any one color paint I could fall in love with. So after looking at sample after sample of colors that looked good in the store and and bad on my wall I found "back splash"
I started with these...
I must say I love Joann's! Not only are their coupons "One per full price item" (instead of Micheal's "One per person") but they will accept competitors coupons too! I also signed up for their e-mail and mailer and since the coupons have different codes I can use them all.
So I spent a total of $8 to paint my kitchen. And this is what I got.

Here she is stripped and bare

I started off taping off the walls in diagonals. I of course forgot to take pictures of this point.

And if you have never seen my kitchen before, this is what I am working with.

So in this picture you can see the left side is done and the right side is painted but the tape wasn't ready to come off...
I loved when Garrett decided to cook on the stove in the middle of the kitchen.
And here is the right wall done.
And here is the left side done. Oh and we bought a fridge!!!
I am so enjoying being a homeowner and having a husband who appreciates it. (I think he was pretty happy about the price too)

Sewing fun

I started this project about a month ago, but then I ran into a few dilemmas with my sewing machine. (I lost the clear plastic piece that covers the bobbin) Well i finally got it replaced. For being such a small piece it sure was hard to find. I had to order it from a Singer Repair store down in LA. Anyways, I saw this blog that showed you how to take a t-shirt and turn it into a pair of yoga pants. So I got one of Garrett's many shirts he has that he has never worn (and yes I did get his permission first) and cut it like so...

Then I sewed them all together to make these...
Sorry about the picture it was Garrett's cell phone and it's kind of dark. I wish I could still remember the blog I got it from so I could give them credit. Needless to say Garrett's shirts that he doesn't wear he no longer has to get rid of.

January is over... but man was it a blast.

Okay so i suck at posting. I mean really my last blog was about hot wings. So her is a shameless attempt to catch everyone up on whats been going on...

Okay so this month was full of basketball. Santa gave Garrett tickets to see the Warriors play the Pacers who have Tyler Hansbrough (his favorite play that ever played for UNC) it was amazing to watch this kid that we fallowed through his college carer tare it up in the NBA

Jackie my BFF had never been to a basketball game before so she and I went to a Kings game

They were nose bleed seats but it was a lot of fun.

Then Garretts work hooked him up with tickets row 4 it was fun watching the game that night on TV because you could totally see us (if you knew where we were sitting.)

Then Brody had his birthday party!!! His theme was the letter B so the cake was anything with the letter B. Oh and he LOVES bugs. I loved how it turned out. The best part is it's all edible. The bugs are starbursts and air heads.

I missed the party though because Dillon decided to make his grand debut into the world. He is absolutely adorable and it was love at first sight for all of us.

Two days prior though we could be found eating this...

I LOVE crab feeds! I went to one with Jackie and this one was with the fam. I will be at another one this Friday. 3 for the year should be good :)

A lot of my nieces and nephews are active in sports. I was lucky to get to go to one of Tyler's games. Best part was, he was playing my other niece Leah. It was a two for one.

They are only 6 months apart in age

I also got to hang with my Brother-in-law to watch. Jeannett chose to go to Ryan's basketball game but she caught the very end.

I feel so far behind... lots more happen but I need to go to bed and I will try to post more later. Sorry!
